Press Release

13 May 2009 - Carolyn de la Drapiere Launch

Music, Moet, Glamour....... Carolyn de la Drapiere a new label for curvaceous women, launched with much flamboyance on the 13th of May in a venue Barnes, London. It was without a doubt a ravishing event for beautiful, shapely women for it showed to advantage the trademark of Carolyn's small collection - Luxurious fabrics, wonderful shapes, a label bursting with freshness, elegance and creativity.

Setting the mood with old jazz, vintage style décor and floral arrangements, 4 gorgeous models showed off a collection of 24 looks, each distinct, original and oh so glamorous. Their rapid changes between outfits was nothing short of miraculous as they whisked on and off the catwalk within minutes showing off clothes that were not only beautiful, but shapely, figure enhancing and simply divine. Applauded after each item, the models looked super sexy in a wonderful range of colours and designs for work, casual and evening wear.

Jane, a guest at the party said, "It was great to see curvy women strutting their stuff, looking beautiful all wearing stunning clothes. It was one in the eye for the size zero fashion police."

Carolyn Draper started working on the collection early last year. Being a plus size woman herself she felt continually frustrated by the lack of choice that curvy women have. Loving all things with a vintage feel and details such as ribbons, buttons and trims not to mention luxurious fabrics, Carolyn has put together a collection that is inspired by the glamour years of the 20's and 30's. Her clothes exude an air of sophistication, they are classical yet quirky, contempory yet elegant , stunning in every sense of the word. Her aim, to make women of all sizes feel confident and glamorous.

Carolyn says of the evening, "I was amazed how many slim people came and congratulated me on how gorgeous and sexy the models looked. It was if they were surprised that curvy women could look so great. One woman said they looked simply luscious and completely edible.. well of course they did, when wearing clothes that enhance shape and show off the figure, curvy women cannot be beaten for sexiness!

Carolyn's clothes have such uniqueness and individuality that they have been inspired with names such as Regal Rendezvous, Ascot Gardens and Caught in the Act. "Such a great deal of time and thought has gone into each piece to ensure it is flattering and figure enhancing that it is almost as if each design has come alive and taken on a personality of its own," says Carolyn. "We just had to give them all names."

"The night was a great success, I am really pleased that so many wonderful people supported the event and loved the clothes. I enjoy more than anything seeing people happy and confident in what they are wearing. I hope my clothes inspire you to feel fabulous and enjoy being the woman you are."
