Charity, Fashion and Rugby players – what a fabulous mixture as Carolyn de la Drapiere took to the catwalk on the 4th of May 2012. With ten stunning curvaceous models and a couple of gorgeous rugby players, over forty five outfits were shown off to an admiring audience, who enjoyed a fun filled evening of themed catwalk scenes intermingled with saucy songs by the renowned Shelle Luscombe.
The Darling Buds Arts, Music and Fashion show which took place at the London Welsh Rugby Club was opened by the irrepressible Mayor of Richmond – Councillor Clare Head, who quickly had the audience in hysterics with tales of her recent abstinence from alcohol. The Mayor from Hounslow – Councillor Amrit Mann was also in attendance and with the two sitting together looking resplendent in their mayoral outfits the show took off with great aplomb!
The Children’s Shooting Star Hospice Charity was represented by the lovely Katy Jones, who gave a heart moving talk about the children and their families who needed assistance in their final days. To have a child with a life limiting condition and to know their days are numbered is a pain only those who have gone through such an experience would ever understand. To be of small assistance in raising money to help finance much needed local hospices and services for these families was an honour. Working with children and children’s charities is something Carolyn always take great pleasure in, and this was no exception.
The models wore a selection of Carolyn de la Drapiere clothes ranging from casual day wear to evening wear. To compliment the outfits the boys were dressed by Jo Mclaren’s Men’s Formal Wear. Looking incredibly handsome in top hats and tails, kilts and then formal evening attire, they quickly adapted their rugby skills to strutting down a catwalk and the cheers and claps came thick and fast as they sashayed down the runway.
The evening was a huge success. A big huge thank-you to all of you who gave your time for this fabulous charity and fun filled evening.
